Two working keys are needed at time of consultation
Scheduling
a consultation: Due to our heavy pet sitting
schedule on the weekends, we need to make our consultation
appointments during the weekdays or early evenings.
Last
minute consultation for new clients: Even
in a last minute emergency, we need to schedule an in-home
consultation to meet you, your pets, and to go over your pet
and home care routines. We can never offer services without
our service forms filled out and coming to your home to go
over your pet and home care routine and retaining two working
keys.
Payment
for Services
Payment
for services are always submitted at least 2 days before services
begin. We prefer to use Paypal Email Invoicing Systems for
all service transactions, but do accept checks and cash.
-Paypal:
A Paypal invoice is sent to the client’s email, usually
at the time reservations are made. Payment is submitted up
to 2 days, prior to pet care services beginning. Clients can
easily follow the link in their email to submit payment. We
find Paypal Invoicing system to be easy, convenient, and internet
safe for our clients!
-Checks
or Cash: The client is required to leave payment
for services on the counter along with the New Travel Information
Form at the time of our 1st pet sitting service. We do not
invoice clients for service fees after they return.
Refunds
In
the event a client has paid for services, before services
begin, we can offer a credit to be used at a later date. Or,
if the client prefers to receive a refund, a 5% processing
fee is applied to the refund balance. Paypal charges us a
fee to process all payments.
Early
Return: A 24 hours notice must be given to
receive a full credit for unused services. If a 24 hour notice
is not given, we retain one full day of service fees, and
the balance will be issued as credit.

Shared
Pet Sits: Due to our insurance policy, and
other factors, we usually can not accept any shared pet sitting
services with friends, family, or neighbors. But, you can
inquire for certain situations, but we have discovered, it's
usually not a good idea.
Every
Other Day Reservations:
We
can not accept every other day pet sitting reservations. All
pet sitting services must be scheduled at least 1 x per day,
in consecutive days in a row, at least one day after your
departure to one day before your arrival date. This assures
us that if your pet ends up stuck behind a dryer or in a cabinet,
becomes ill, or the home air conditioner breaks in the summer,
they can be helped in a reasonable amount of time.
Our
Pet Sitters
Qualifications:
Our
pet sitters must pass a thorough background check performed
by an authorized, professional investigation service. They
must also provide multiple professional references, copies
of their drivers license, SS #, and proof of auto insurance-
that is updated yearly. We also obtain a signed KPSS contract
that states their agreement and knowledge of all of our policies,
procedures, and highly ethical expectations.
Pet
Sitter - Bond & Insurance:
Our professional pet sitters are covered under our bond and
liability insurance. However, pet sitters are held responsible
for any personal discrepancies involved in their work performed.
Please feel free to ask any questions regarding coverage.
Assigned
Pet Sitters: KPSS uses the services of trained
and qualified pet sitters to care for our client’s pets and
home. We strive to assign the same pet sitter for our clients
and their pets. The owner and training manager, also conducts
pet sitting services in the clients home as part of our training
and monitoring system. However, at times, the client's assigned
pet sitter is not available. Please see below for further
details about our qualified, professional back-up pet sitters.
Back-up
Pet Sitters:
At
times our client’s regular pet sitter is not available. At
that time, our service will provide our clients with another
qualified, professional pet sitter who will be fully trained
at the clients home when the services are in progress, in
accordance with the procedures and policies of KPSS. All pet
sitters are expected to behave in a respectful, honest, and
professional manner at all times.
Meeting
Our Pet Sitters:
We can schedule a meet & greet appointment for the client
and pet sitter, unless circumstances beyond our control or
the client’s, have occurred due to time lines In the client/pet
sitter meet and greet, training is not necessary as KPSS trains
all pet sitters for their clients, after the first initial
client consultation. The client will never have to train any
pet sitters, unless they prefer to. Clients are encouraged
to spend the 15-30 minute meet and greet, in getting to know
their pet sitters and if applicable, letting the pet sitter
interact with the pets as much as possible.
Daily
Service Monitoring: All
pet sitters call into KPSS Voicemail System, from the client’s
home each day, from each pet sit. The pet sitters give a detailed
report via voicemail to KPSS of how the pets are doing that
visit and give details on their daily services to the care
of the pets and home. We offer this service to our clients,
so they may enjoy their vacations, personal, or business trips,
without interruption and as added security knowing their pets
and home are well taken care of.
KPSS
Misc. Polices
Home Temperature:
Our clients must have the temperature in their home set to
a reasonable temperature for the welfare and comfort of their
animals. We will not leave fans on in place of A/C units during
the hot season. If you have an A/C problem, please ask us
about boarding referrals for the time you’re A/C is not functioning.
Out
Door Dog Sitting:
We do not accept strictly outdoor pet sitting requests for
dogs, unless you have air conditioned housing outside and
secure and safe, wild animal proof fencing. We have learned
that outdoor elements in Arizona with the extreme heat in
the summer, lightening storms, and the threat of snakes on
some properties, are too severe for both your animals and
our pet sitters. Dogs that have doggy doors with access to
the indoors are accepted, but not recommended, while the client
is gone for long periods of time. Small dog pet sitting with
doggy doors are usually not accepted by our services. Wild
animals in Tucson can and do, easily jump high fences here
in Arizona and attack dogs.
Outdoor
Cat Sitting: We never accept
outdoor pet sitting services for cats. Domestic cats should
never ever live outdoors. We have learned that Leukemia, rabies,
FFVL, predator wild life, cars, and animal abusing humans,
can be a grave threat to the outdoor feline community. If
you have an unusual circumstance with an outdoor cat, please
call us and let us know the situation for possible approval.
Feral
Cat Community & Stray Cats:
We accept! If you are feeding outdoor feral cats
or a stray cat that can not reside indoors for reasons beyond
your control, we will gladly follow your feeding and watering
routine.
Aggressive/Overly
Protective Animals: We do
not have special animal handlers that can work with aggressive,
overly protective animals. Therefore, we can not offer our
services for them. If your pet has bitten anyone in the past,
or shows aggressive behavior, please kindly make other arrangements.
We have found that the best pet care for overly protective
animals are to board them at a reputable commercial boarding
facility.
Light
Rotation: We are very supportive
of light rotation in our client homes while they are gone.
However, we do not allow for certain lights that pose a fire
danger to be left on unattended. We do not accept lamps with
cloth or paper lamp shades and some very hot ceiling lights.
We choose lights that are as safe as possible or you can assist
us in the light selections of your home.
Windows
& Doors:
We do not accept outside windows or doors to remain
open in the clients home while services are in progress.
